Background
The SGI Group was incorporated in August 2000 as a holding company for its Transport and Logistics companies in the Southern African region. Included in these companies are Stuttafords Removals in Zimbabwe, Malawi and Zambia and Glens Care in Zimbabwe and South Africa. Through an associate rail logistics company the African Rail company, the group offers rail based transport solutions into most of the Southern African region including Namibia and the southern part of the DRC. Our main focus is to provide house hold relocation services and commercial cargo movement largely through road and rail logistics.

Since its incorporation in 2000 the SGI Group has expanded into other areas of business in response to the dynamic changes taking place in the domestic, regional and global arena. These new areas include engineering and construction (St George’s Engineering (pvt) limited) and financial advisory services (Phinlink Financial Services) and trading (Phinlink Trading) all of which are housed under Phinlink Investments, a recently acquired subsidiary of the  SGI Group.

The SGI Group is a 100 percent owned Zimbabwean company with an extensive network of regional and international partners in all its areas of enterprise.

Employing over 200 people and with a truck fleet of over 80 vehicles the SGI Group draws its strength from its large footprint in the Southern African region. Its presence in the Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Malawi and Mozambican markets provides a strong platform for tapping into the vast business opportunities spanning the region.

Its Stuttafords and Glens Removals brands are internationally recognized in the field of household relocations and household goods storage. The two companies service NGOs, the diplomatic sector and international corporates seeking to move their employees locally regionally or across the globe.

In 2014 the Group acquired a strategic business, Phinlink Investments (Pvt) Limited. Phinlink has three subsidiaries, St Georges Engineering (Pvt) Limited (Please see www.stgeorgesengineering.co.zw ) which is involved in steel fabrication and construction and Phinlink Financial Services (Pvt) Limited involved in providing financial advice and arrangement to would be investors and Phinlink Trading which is involved in commodity trading.

It can also arrange trade finance using its growing network of proven financial partners in the region and around the globe- all this at highly competitive rates. Phinlink will assist clients in coming up with bankable projects based on the models preferred by its funding partners.

Phinlink Trading is a major player in the importation of grains into Zimbabwe. The company has strong sourcing platforms for wheat bran, maize, wheat flour soya beans, groundnuts, sugar and coal.
